Oxygenation of brain tissue
HBOT increases the amount of oxygen dissolved in blood plasma and carries it into areas of the brain where blood flow is limited or the tissue is hypoxic. Neurons get the energy they need to function and to repair.
Neurological conditions change life for the person affected and for the whole family. Whether you are looking for a way to support recovery, slow the progression or protect the brain before problems arise — HBOT gives the brain exactly what it needs.
A neurological diagnosis comes with many questions that conventional medicine cannot always answer. What else can be done. How to slow the progression. How to keep as much independence and quality of life as possible. Conventional medicine offers standard protocols; they have their place and HBOT does not replace them. But there can be room where an adjunctive therapy takes the results further. Where rehabilitation or medication alone is not enough.
A stroke, a traumatic brain injury or another neurological event leaves areas of the brain with limited blood flow and reduced activity. Standard rehabilitation works with what is left. HBOT goes deeper: it oxygenates the damaged areas, supports neuroplasticity and creates the conditions for functions to return. Results depend on the extent of the damage and on the time that has passed since the event, but even chronic cases can respond to a well-set protocol.
Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis are conditions in which the brain gradually loses function. HBOT improves blood flow to the brain, reduces inflammation in nerve tissue and supports its protection. Clients report improvements in memory, attention and processing speed. The aim is to keep or improve the functions a person still has, slow the decline and improve the quality of everyday life.
Cognitive decline and the loss of brain function are a biological certainty. The sooner you start with prevention, the better. HBOT improves perfusion of brain tissue, supports mitochondrial function and stimulates the formation of new blood vessels. A regular series of sessions creates conditions in which the brain works at its best and is better protected against future decline.
The brain depends on oxygen more than any other organ. When there is not enough, nerve tissue is the first to feel it. HBOT gives the brain exactly what it needs to improve and to stay protected.
HBOT increases the amount of oxygen dissolved in blood plasma and carries it into areas of the brain where blood flow is limited or the tissue is hypoxic. Neurons get the energy they need to function and to repair.
The brain can form new neural connections and reorganise its functions even after damage. HBOT supports that process by improving metabolic activity in the affected areas and creating the conditions for nerve pathways to recover.
HBOT protects healthy neurons from further damage. In neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s it may slow the progression and help preserve the functions a person still has.
Chronic inflammation of brain tissue is the common denominator of most neurological conditions. HBOT lowers pro-inflammatory cytokines and supports the shift from chronic inflammation into the regenerative phase.
HBOT stimulates the formation of new blood vessels in areas of the brain with limited circulation. Better perfusion means a better long-term supply of oxygen and nutrients to nerve tissue, even after the course of sessions ends.
Neurons are extremely energy-hungry and depend on mitochondrial ATP production. HBOT stimulates mitochondrial biogenesis and raises the energy capacity of nerve cells, which shows up as better cognitive function.
A hard-shell chamber. The highest pressure available in Prague.
As the only private practice in Prague we offer genuine HBOT at up to 2.4 ATA in a hard-shell chamber with a BIBS mask. We set the protocol individually according to the indication and the client’s condition.
The level used in clinical settings. Other private providers in the Czech Republic reach 1.5 ATA at most.
The only standard in serious hyperbaric therapy. Maximum oxygen concentration in every breath. No dilution, exactly where it belongs.
A professional oxygen station with filtration. Consistent values in every session.
With a nasal cannula the client exhales back into the chamber. The exhaled air mixes with the oxygen from the cannula, raises the oxygen concentration inside the closed space above a safe level and at the same time markedly lowers the purity of what the client breathes in. BIBS is a closed system that carries exhaled air entirely out of the chamber, so every breath contains pure oxygen without dilution.
The HPO Giza chamber in central Prague. Rigid construction, clinical pressure up to 2.4 ATA, a spacious interior for four people. Click to enlarge.
The initial consultation is always free. A companion in the chamber pays half the session price.
Google reviews, translated from Czech.
“I can only recommend the oxygen therapy here. I come for tinnitus and it really does help. The team is friendly and the place feels welcoming.”
“After only a few hyperbaric oxygen therapy sessions I noticed more energy, better concentration and a better overall physical and mental state.”
“The team were very kind and professional, and the place was calm and welcoming. I felt safe here and in good hands.”
You will find us a few steps from the I. P. Pavlova metro station. Easy to reach by car, public transport or on foot, even with a companion.
Get in touch. We’ll go through what you are dealing with and recommend the best next step. No pressure, no overpromising.
Opening hours: Mon–Fri 9am–7pm
Message us on WhatsApp any time. We’ll reply as soon as we can.Yes, and with neurological indications we actively recommend it for older clients. Age in itself is not a contraindication. HBOT is a non-invasive therapy that puts no physical demands on you. Before you start we hold an initial consultation, where we assess your overall health.
In most cases, yes. HBOT does not replace neurological treatment; it complements it. Before you start we recommend telling your treating neurologist, who can assess any interactions with your current medication.
Yes. With a correctly set protocol, HBOT is a non-invasive therapy and systemic side effects are not commonly reported. Before every session we assess the client’s health and adapt the protocol individually. The initial consultation is compulsory for all new clients.
Yes, and with some conditions we recommend it. The chamber takes up to four people at a time, so a companion can be present for the whole session. A companion takes up a seat in the chamber, and we charge half the session price for them.
As a rule, the sooner after the event the better. But research suggests that even chronic cases, where months or years have passed since the event, can respond to HBOT. The brain keeps a certain capacity for regeneration long after damage. We recommend a consultation regardless of when the event happened.
