Blood flow to the endometrium
Optimal microcirculation increases the thickness and receptivity of the lining. An endometrium well supplied with oxygen is ready to receive an embryo.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy improves the conditions for a successful pregnancy — with IVF, or when conceiving naturally is not working. Better blood flow, less inflammation, more energy for the eggs and the endometrium. We work with IVF clinics and coordinate care with your doctor.
Whether you are at the start or already have a cycle behind you, one thing always holds. The better prepared the body is, the better the conditions for implantation. HBOT addresses specific physiological factors that can be measured and influenced. Without disrupting your protocol — alongside it.
For implantation to succeed, the body needs an optimal environment. Oxygen therapy works on five specific levels that improve that environment.
Optimal microcirculation increases the thickness and receptivity of the lining. An endometrium well supplied with oxygen is ready to receive an embryo.
Oocyte maturation and the first embryo divisions depend on mitochondrial energy. That energy is made from oxygen. HBOT increases its availability at cell level.
A high level of oxidative stress lowers the quality of both eggs and embryos. HBOT reduces it and improves the antioxidant capacity of the tissues.
Chronic low-grade inflammation disrupts the implantation window. The anti-inflammatory effect of HBOT addresses that factor directly.
HBOT mobilises stem cells from the bone marrow and supports the natural renewal of uterine tissue. The effect persists after the course of sessions ends.
Sessions can be scheduled in three phases, depending on what you want to support. We coordinate the timing with your IVF protocol and the date of the transfer.
6 to 10 sessions in the weeks before stimulation or egg collection. The aim is to improve mitochondrial function in the eggs and blood flow to the endometrium.
3 to 5 sessions in the days before the planned embryo transfer. The endometrium in optimal condition, less inflammation, the implantation window ready.
2 to 3 sessions immediately after the transfer. The therapy is safe to use at this point and supports blood flow at the time when the embryo is looking for a place to implant.
A hard-shell chamber. The highest pressure available in Prague.
As the only private practice in Prague we offer genuine HBOT at up to 2.4 ATA in a hard-shell chamber with a BIBS mask. We set the protocol individually, coordinated with your IVF protocol and the timing of the transfer.
The level used in clinical settings. Other private providers in the Czech Republic reach 1.5 ATA at most.
The only standard in serious hyperbaric therapy. Maximum oxygen concentration in every breath. No dilution, exactly where it belongs.
A professional oxygen station with filtration. Consistent values in every session.
With a nasal cannula the client exhales back into the chamber. The exhaled air mixes with the oxygen from the cannula, raises the oxygen concentration inside the closed space above a safe level and at the same time markedly lowers the purity of what the client breathes in. BIBS is a closed system that carries exhaled air entirely out of the chamber, so every breath contains pure oxygen without dilution.
HBOT does not interfere with your IVF protocol. It does not affect your medication or the stimulation protocol; it only complements them. We have experience of coordinating care and are used to speaking to fertility specialists directly. HBOT is fully compatible with standard IVF treatment.

The physiological effects that support fertility are just as relevant when you are planning to conceive naturally. Better blood flow to the endometrium, less oxidative stress and support for ovarian function make sense whenever the aim is to prepare the body for conception. Many women go through a series of sessions as part of their overall preparation for pregnancy, without any link to a specific clinical protocol.
Yes, and it is worth considering. The male factor plays a role in roughly half of all cases of infertility. There is clinical evidence that HBOT affects sperm quality: it improves motility, reduces oxidative stress in semen and supports the overall quality of the ejaculate. A series of 10 to 15 sessions in the 60 to 90 days before the planned collection makes the most sense. That is because the sperm maturation cycle takes about 74 days. If your partner is being investigated or has borderline semen analysis results, HBOT is relevant for him too.
No. And anyone who told you it could would not be being honest with you. IVF is a complex process with many variables, and no adjunctive therapy can guarantee the outcome. What HBOT can influence are the specific physiological conditions for implantation: blood flow, oxidative stress and the receptivity of the endometrium. We improve the conditions, not the outcome. That is a difference we think is important to say out loud.
There are conditions where we do not recommend HBOT, or where you need to talk to a doctor before you start. They include untreated pneumothorax, certain lung conditions, claustrophobia and some cardiovascular diagnoses. With cancer treatment or specific medication, a consultation beforehand is always necessary. At the initial consultation we go through your health and give you an honest assessment of whether the therapy is suitable for you.
We recommend it, and ideally discussing it in advance. Not because HBOT would interfere with the protocol, but because open communication with your doctor is the basis of good care. Most fertility specialists know HBOT as an adjunct and have no problem with it. If you would like, we are used to speaking to the clinic directly and coordinating the timing of sessions with your protocol.
